38 weeks 2 days pregnant.. doctor seems to be lazy?

I dont think lazy is quite the right word but thats what came to mind, heres the scoop. My first pregnancy i remember getting quite a few internal exams towards the end of my pregnancy. I know i got one at 37 weeks and at that point i was already 2cm dilated. I ended up leaking amniotic fluid a week before my due date and had to be induced, ended with a c-section. This pregnancy i havent had an internal exam since the pap smear at the beginning, they did the group b strep but nothing else. Im 38 weeks and 2 days and still no internal exams. Im trying for a VBAC this time so you think they would be trying to be more cautious right? With both pregnancies my blood pressure has been good and iv had absolutly no problems besids leaking fluid with my first pregnancy. I have the same doctor as with my first pregnancy and it just seems like she is shrugging things off this pregnancy. Im going to ask her about all of this at my next appointment, but just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar. I thought internal exams were routine this far in?
