Nervous about going to 42 weeks to be induced?

I know every doctor is different but each sees it better to go no later than 40 weeks or at least to 41 weeks and some, like mine see it better to wait until 42 weeks to induce. It makes me so nervous to wait to be induced until 42 weeks because my amniotic fluid is already a little low and I'm scared it will be too low and the umbilical cord will be compressed or he will release meconium in the womb. I'm so nervous that these things will happen from waiting. I know that many people go to 42 weeks and beyond and are just fine but I have heard horror stories as well. Any reassurance that everything will be okay and tips on not being so worried about it would be great! I am staying preoccupied to not think about it as much as possible but I am still worried!
